I am certified in Autplay® Therapy, a specialized form of play therapy that uses behavioral therapy approaches and family engagement to assist youth in developing

  • Emotional Regulation

  • Connection (Relationships)

  • Social Skills

Autplay® Therapy was created by Dr. Robert Jason Grant to address the unique needs of children and teenagers with neurodevelopment disorders, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)  and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), within a therapeutic setting.

This approach to therapy meets clients and families where they are and builds on their strengths and interests to take them where they want to be.  Through thoughtfully designed games and exercises, parents and youth will learn together how to engage with one another and communicate effectively.  They also learn how to have fun together, which strengthens resiliency and connection within the family.

AutPlay® Therapy addresses six target areas:

  1. Increasing Emotional Regulation Ability

  2. Increasing Social Skills Development

  3. Increasing Connection (Relationship Development)

  4. Improving Sensory Challenges

  5. Decreasing Anxiety levels

  6. Addressing Behavioral Issues

Parent Support

Supporting parents is a central part of how I work with youth with special needs. Additional sessions are encouraged to assist parents with managing meltdowns, problem solving transitions, and communicating with schools or other professionals on how to best meet their child’s needs. I have over 10 years experience working in schools and in the community with individuals with a wide range of abilities and am passionate about collaborating with parents to design routines that work best for their family.
